Have you ever played a game and said to yourself I can make a better game, well, microsoft wants you to do just that with it’s new Game development tool named Kodu.
Kodu is a visual game programming tool for kids and adults which makes game programming so easy that a 10 year old can do it. Young Game designers who aspire to make a career in the gaming business can unleash their creativity and test their skills with this new tool which enables gamers to create Racing games, first-person shooters, adventure games, 2D side-scrollers. They can also share their games within the community and with friends , the tool would not allow you to create games of the quality of Gears of War or Halo but you can easily create platformers , if you are up to it.
Kodu, Microsoft’s answer to Little Big Planet on rival console ps3 which also happens to encourage user generated content. LBP recieved a host of plaudits from critics and gamers alike and managed to win a bag full of awards when it was released in late 2008 , microsoft is probably trying to achieve similar success with Kodu but only time will tell if gamers would opt for creating a game before playing it.
